To support the international staff of EUFOR RD Congo-operation the Military History Research Institute (MGFA) in Potsdam framed an English Version of its book concerning the history of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It should assist interested military and non-military persons to get a fact-based survey of the historical background and the latest developments in the Congo. For this purpose distinguished authors describe in 21 articles historical and political processes in Central Africa as well as social, ethnic and economic details of the society in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Several apendixes (e.g. literature references and internet tips) complete the book.
